Rifai Abdul Raheem has proudly called Wyndham home for over 12 years. As a father of school-aged children who attend local schools, Rifai understands first-hand the needs, hopes, and challenges of families across Melbourne’s west.
With over 30 years of experience in community service, Rifai has been a consistent advocate for working people, small businesses, and grassroots-led change. He has successfully accessed government funding to deliver vital projects that support local wellbeing, youth empowerment, and social cohesion.
Rifai holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and a Master’s in Entrepreneurship—an academic foundation that underpins his innovative and solution-focused approach. He has founded and led several community organisations, working closely with Wyndham’s multicultural and multifaith communities to promote inclusivity, unity, and representation.
As a proud member of the Victorian Greens, Rifai is deeply committed to social justice, climate action, better public services, and fairness for all. Since becoming the local Greens convenor, he has helped energise the movement in Tarneit, where the 2025 Senate results showed a remarkable 5.65% swing toward the Greens. His leadership has resonated strongly across the region, particularly among young people, diverse communities, and those advocating for a fairer and more sustainable future.
Most recently, Rifai ran as the Greens candidate in the Werribee by-election following the resignation of former Treasurer Tim Pallas—amplifying the voice of ordinary residents and offering a real alternative rooted in community care and progressive values.
Known for his respectful collaboration with local councillors, Members of Parliament, and community groups, Rifai continues to be a trusted advocate and changemaker working to build a better Western Metro for all.
